WORDSLEY’S Red House Glass Cone is turning pink this weekend as staff and traders aim to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Research.

Visitors to the ‘Pink House Glass Cone’ on Saturday and Sunday (October 11 and 12) are being asked to support the cause.

Craft tenants are donating prizes for a tombola, there will be pink cake on offer at the coffee house and children can enjoy a pink duck trail around the historic site Chris Cook of AKC Signs, a tenant at the cone is coordinating the fundraiser and will be turning his truck pink for the event.

At a similar event in 2012, Mr Cook helped to raise £4,536 for various cancer charities.

A raffle is being run for one month with various prizes including a one-week holiday in Portugal.

Money will go to the Kemp Hospice in Kidderminster.

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment and culture said: “Families looking for something to do this weekend are in for an additional pink treat when they visit the Red House Glass Cone.

“It’s always welcoming when local businesses get together like this to support and highlight good causes.”
