The New Year report for the Wordsley Gentle Exercise group, which meets at the Richardson Hall, Lawnswood Road, Wordsley every Friday afternoon 1.30pm, records an excellent year for 2014.

May saw our fifth birthday with a celebration of cakes and refreshments during our social time which follows the exercise sessions each Friday. During the year outings were arranged by our instructor and were enjoyed by all.

Members of the Princes Trust again visited the group and took part in the hour long exercises.

A tea party of cakes and refreshments followed and the occasion was videoed by a leader of the Trust team.

This, together with other working activities videoed, was shown at the special presentation evening in the presence of council dignitaries, local councillors and leaders of the Trust’s working programme.

In November the group took part in the Wordsley Community Centre Christmas Bazaar and raised another record figure for Centre funds with a prize every time soft toys and mystery prizes table.

The Mount Pleasant was the venue for our Christmas lunch and the year culminated on December 19 with an afternoon tea party.

The Gentle Exercise group is for people who find aerobics, zumba, keep fit groups too vigorous and would prefer a gentler type of exercising, either seated or standing, with a fully qualified instructor.

We look forward to a happy and progressive 2015 at our keep fit social afternoons. New members and visitors are welcome, admission £2.
