The March meeting was opened by chairman of the day Wendy Lloyd who welcomed members and visitors.

The minutes of the previous meeting, prepared by secretary Liz Moseley, were signed and Rosemary Skidmore, treasurer, gave details of the finances for the last month.

Federation Report – A trip to Liverpool on April 30 is arranged leaving Stourbridge at 8.30am returning 5pm. Cost of £21 includes coach and entrance to two churches.

Lunch Club - The Lunch club will meet at The Lawnswood, Lawnswood Road, on Monday March 30 12pm for 12.30. The Birthday Lunch is at Himley Country Hotel on April 27.

These next coffee morning will be on April 29 at the home of Pat Caddick.

In the absence of Theatre Group organiser Barbara Taylor, Pat Caddick gave details of the musical ‘Ghost’ for May 15 matinee.

The suggestion of contributing to a fund for inclusion of a Townswomen’s Guild memorial at the National Arboretum was not met with much enthusiasm as it did not seem suitable for a social group to be represented at a military commemoration.

A vote was taken with the decision not to support aTG memorial. Liz will inform head office.

Rosemary impressed on members the importance of advertising through several mediums such as members distributing the programme for the forthcoming year to any one who showed interest in the group. At the next meeting on April 20 10am will be Chris Smith with a talk entitled “Would you believe it”

with prizes to be won and on May 16 Mike Guy will be demonstrating, with audience participation, the ins and outs of Origami. Visitors are charged at £2.50 including refreshments which are held at the Wordsley Community Centre on the third Monday of each month at 10am.
