The April meeting was opened by Chairman of the day Liz Hubbard and as the speaker Chris Smith, originally booked, was unavailable Liz introduced Rosemary Prosser who talked about her decision to start a Farm House Bed and Breakfast in the early 1980’s.

Entitled ‘One Egg or Two’, recollections of the many pleasant and some unpleasant people who stayed, and of the spectrum of experiences, formed the basis of her talk.

Regularly cooking breakfast for up to ten guests and after a morning greeting as she entered the dining room Rosemary would ask the usual question “one egg or two?”It was a light-hearted talk with many humorous episodes. Liz Hubbard gave the vote of thanks.

Liz then welcomed members and several visitors to the morning meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting, prepared by secretary Liz Moseley, were signed and Rosemary Skidmore, treasurer, gave details of the finances to date.

Federation Report – A trip to Liverpool on April 30 is arranged leaving Stourbridge at 8.30am returning 5pm. Cost of £21 includes coach and entrance to two churches.

The Inter Guild Quiz is on June 1 at the Stourbridge Football Club premises.

Ann Birchell also gave details of a Race Day on June 24 £7.50 which includes a fish and chip lunch and a competition of the most elegant or quirky hat. The venue for the Annual Lunch will be decided at the end of the month. There will be a Harvest Lunch in October and the carol service on December 12.There were 10 Guilds exhibiting crafts at the AGM which showed enthusiastic support for the event. A new Federation treasurer was inducted.

Guild Lunch Club - The Lunch club will hold the Birthday Lunch at Himley Country Hotel on April 27 and the monthly meeting will be at The Swan, Kingswinford on Monday, May 11.

Coffee Mornings – The next social get-together will be on Wednesday April 29 at the home of Pat Caddick.

Liz Hubbard will host the morning on May 21 and Doreen Davies on June 10. It is a good time to get to know each other particularly our new members.

Barbara Taylor, gave details of the musical ‘Ghost’ for May 15 matinee.

Rosemary had received the Guild badges which were now available at £2 each. At the next meeting on May 18 Mike Guy will be demonstrating, with audience participation, ‘The Ins and Outs of Origami’, the art of producing images through paper folding.

Visitors are most welcome to come to this meeting at a small charge of £2.50 including refreshments.
