MEMBERS of a service aimed at keeping older and vulnerable people safe and well in their homes, will be out and about in Wordsley later this month.

The Living Well, Feeling Safe service, which provides safety, security and wellbeing is a partnership made up of Dudley Council, Age UK, West Midlands Police, Victim Support, West Midlands Fire Service and other agencies.

Staff from the service will be visiting properties in and around Wordsley between June 10 and 12, offering free home assessments as well as advice, tips and practical help on home safety and security.

Dudley Councillor Dave Branwood, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “The living well, feeling safe service is ideal for any older or vulnerable person or couple who are feeling isolated or in need of support, or for people who are simply concerned about safety in the home.

“I’d encourage Wordsley residents to take up the offer of a free home assessment, but it’s important to stress that this service is available to people across the borough, so if you know anyone who could benefit then please contact the service directly.”

A drop-in information day will also be held by Wordsley and District Community Association, in The Green, from 9.30am until 2pm on Friday, June 12.

Representatives from a range of organisations involved in the service will be in attendance during the day.
