The May meeting was opened by chairman of the day Wendy Lloyd who welcomed members and visitors.

Member Peggy Lloyd was presented with a basket of flowers in recognition of her 90th birthday.

Ann Birchell gave details of a Race Day on June 24 £7.50 which includes a fish and chip lunch and a competition of the most elegant or quirky hat. The Annual Lunch is at The Vesuvio Restaurant in Victoria Passage, on August 3. Payment for both events due by next meeting.

There is a Birmingham Federation event on November 4 at Carr’s Lane Church ‘The History Wardrobe’ about fairytale costumes and Sue Cadman will talk about her life in show business. At the AGM it was proposed to hold craft sessions and feed back is needed to measure interest from Guilds.The Lunch Club will meet at The Lawnswood, Wordsley on June 1 12 for 12.30pm.

Liz Hubbard will host the morning on May 28 10.30am. A special coffee morning, open to the public, is being held in conjunction with Wordsley & District Community Association’s 75th Anniversary celebrations on June 11 at Wordsley Green Community Centre 10am.

Wendy then introduced Mick Guy who gave a very entertaining talk and demonstration of the ‘Ins and Outs of Origami’. On June 18 Sarah Nixon, who is a crime and vulnerability officer, will be talking and advising about Home and Personal Security. Also a plant sale table will be in place. Visitors are most welcome to come to this meeting at a small charge of £2.50 including refreshments. Meetings are held at the Wordsley Community Centre on the third Monday of each month at 10am.
