A YOUNG girl has been knocked down by a car outside a Kingswinford school this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to an incident at 3.45pm which involved a 12-year-old getting hit outside The Crestwood School, in Bromley Lane.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said they have sent an ambulance to the scene where a community paramedic is currently assessing the child.

Ward councillor Derrick Hemingsley, who is leader of the Wordsley Community Speed Watch, said he has “growing concerns” about the safety of pedestrians along Bromley Lane.

He said: “I have just been told that a little girl has been knocked down outside The Crestwood School on Bromley Lane.

“We keep having persistent issues with drivers on that road which is why we focused our recent speed watch there. I have growing concerns about that road.

“I have asked for the zebra crossing to be changed to a pelican crossing as the drivers are just not taking any notice, and will hopefully receive a response from Dudley Council in November.”
