WORDSLEY ‘M’ TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD

The December meeting was opened by chairman of the day Wendy Lloyd who welcomed members and visitors. Minutes of the previous meeting, prepared by secretary Liz Moseley, were signed and Rosemary Skidmore, treasurer, gave details of the accounts to date.

The first lunch club meeting of the new year will be on Monday, January 11 at the Mount Pleasant, Kingswinford 12pm for 12.30. The Swan at Kingswinford is the venue for 1st. February.

The first coffee morning will be held in March. Members were asked to consider hosting a coffee morning as it is a worthwhile social occasion.

Theatre Group – Barbara Taylor gave details of the TAB production of Grease next March at Brierley Hill Civic Hall. Tickets, £11, will be booked for the Saturday matinee.

The Chairman then introduced Beryl Briscoe who gave a very enjoyable programme of Christmas entertainment with seasonal songs, sing-a-long and humour. Members were encouraged to dance to some of the rhythmical music which some happily took up the invitation.

A table of fresh cream cakes were laid served with tea or coffee and enjoyed by all.

There will be no meeting in January. The February meeting will be payment of subscriptions. In March we will have a Flowers Arranging demonstration by Liz Moseley preceded by the Annual General meeting.

In April David Bartley will give a talk entitled ‘Potted History of Porcelain’. Members are encouraged to bring along an item of china or porcelain and David will try to value them. Visitors are very welcome at a charge of £2.50 including refreshments.
