Wordsley Gardening Club
The October 12 meeting took place at Wordsley Green Community Centre. There were 21 members attending with apologies from Chris Anderson and Lesley and Mike Beard,
The speaker was Derek Walker from Astley Burf who at one time owned a nursery but is now a well respected flower and vegetable show judge who serves on garden forums with other well known gardening experts. His talk was of tulips in all varieties and he showed slides of his magnificent garden to demonstrate his talk.
During the interval refreshments were served, thanks to Mary and Larry and the raffle drawn.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday November 9 7.30pm at Wordsley Green Community Centre, when Adam Greathead, head gardener at Ashwood Nurseries, will talk to us about ‘Duck Pools – a Garden Divided’. All visitors welcome.
The following meeting will be the Annual General Meeting on January 11 7.30pm. It is hoped that new officers and committee members can be elected.
