FAMILIES should prepare themselves for a frightfully good time as the Red House Glass Cone hosts a halloween spooktacular.

The Wordsley attraction is running a series of events this half term, including a zombie family day on Wednesday (October 26), from 10am until 3pm.

Fancy dress is welcome and admission is free, but there will be a charge of £2.35 for craft activities aimed at children over the age of four.

A glass fusion session is being held on Thursday, October 27, where children can make a fused glass ghost or zombie. Sessions run at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm, costs £4.25 per child and must be booked in advance.

There will also be a free drop-in spooky duck trail around the site from Saturday (October 22), until Sunday, October 30, suitable for children aged three and over.

As part of the trail young explorers will be able to watch glass makers conjure creations from liquid glass from 11am to 2.30pm on weekdays and noon until 3.30pm on weekends.

While for the first time ever, the cone is hosting a pre-bookable trick and treat session for children over the age of four from 11am until 4pm on Saturday, October 29, and Sunday, October 30.

At this safe and fun family event, children can decorate a goody bag and then see who they can find around the site with treats. Pre-booking required and costs £2.35 per child.

Some of the cone’s studio artists will be running workshops too, with Sarah Cannings of Saz’s Ceramics hosting pottery painting and craft workshops on October 23, 25, 26, 27 and 28, including a little hoot ‘trick or treat’ box, a Frankenstein Can-it, a deco patch drop in, clay day skull mugs and a Halloween owl.

Call 07966 514766 for details and to book a place, with prices range from £7.50 to £15 depending on the class.

Tandem crafts are running drop in workshops from 11am until 1.30pm from Monday, October 24, to Wednesday, October 26, including spooky pompoms, paper plate crafts and popsicle stick crafts. Call 07871 515489 for more details.
