VISITORS will be ‘Walking in a Winter Wonderland’ at Wordsley’s Wed House Glass Cone when a festive exhibition opens this week.

Featuring work by ten of the site’s resident artists, the exhibition will showcase pieces around a wintery scene, complete with scattered leaves, snowflakes and snow covered branches.

Among the pieces in the Walking in a Winter Wonderland display are Teresa Mattens’s hand crafted metal jewellery, Tania Holland’s mixed media collages and sculptures, Beverley Bernhard Bridges’ hand painted and dyed silk scarves and cards, Nadia Wood’s Jam Jar Crafts and wedding service, and Tandem Crafts knitted, crocheted and hand-sewn goodies.

Also exhibiting are Saz’s Ceramics hand painted pottery, Josephine Tournebize’s silver and gold jewellery, and Glass Quarter Designs’ Charlotte Hughes Martin, who will display engraving sculpture and glass casting, Jane Ellis’ fused glass pieces and Sarah Jones’s lamp worked glass beads.

Glassmaking in the hot glass studio continues between 12.30pm and 3.30pm at weekends during the exhibition, while the onsite studios and coffee shop will also be open for business.

Santa will also be at the cone throughout December (10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23) from 10am until 3.30pm and costs £7.75 per child, including a craft, or £5.40 for children too young for the craft. Booking is essential and can be done by calling 01384 812381 or 01384 815571.

As part of the cone’s Christmas Festival, the teenage market returns on November 26 and 27, and will be complete with crafts and musical performances.

Admission to the cone is free between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday and 11am until 4pm at weekends.
