WORDSLEY M TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD

The February meeting was opened by chairman of the day Liz Hubbard who welcomed all attending. Apologies were recorded and the minutes of the December meeting, prepared by secretary, Liz Moseley, was signed.

The Federation Report included a proposed arrangement for a trip to the Shrewsbury Flower Show or a visit to the David Austin Rose Gardens in August, the Annual Harvest Lunch in October and an Arts and Crafts event in November. The quiz and the annual lunch are still under consideration.

The Guild Lunch Club. The next Guild lunch outing is on March 6 at The Swan, Kingswinford. The Annual Birthday Lunch was in question and The Lodge, Dudley proved to be a popular choice for the Christmas meal.

The first meeting of the resumed coffee mornings will be on March 27 at the home of Pat Hadley.

Barbara Taylor gave details of the outing to The Grand Theatre on April 26 matinee for the ‘Rock of Ages’ presentation.

The Comic Relief project has been well supported so should realize a good return.

Today’s raffle and table sales will also go towards the fund.

The next meeting of the Guild will be on March 20 when a Fun Quiz will be preceded by the Annual General Meeting. Now is the time for new members to join, this being the commencement of the group’s year. All meetings are held at Wordsley Green Community Centre (free parking), the third Monday each month when we have a variety of speakers and demonstrators, monthly lunch outings and a theatre group, social events, sales tables etc. Every member receives a quarterly ‘townswoman’ magazine and is encouraged to take part in Federation events i.e. outings, craft days, lunches with entertainment, Christmas Carol Service etc.
