Dudley resident Mandeep Rajput is getting on his bike for 4 days in July 2014 to complete the London to Paris bike ride in aid of Mary Stevens Hospice.

Former Come dine with me contestant Mandeep is the first person to complete this type of challenge in aid of Mary Stevens and hopes to raise funds through raffles, auctions, and sponsorship from family and friends leading up to the big day.

Mandeep who lives in Tividale, Dudley has been keen to take on the ‘London to Paris’ challenge for a few years but has been hampered by injury.

Mandeep said "I haven’t always been a cyclist; in fact I set my self a personal challenge to have completed the "London to Paris" challenge by the age of Forty years old but a knee operation set me back a year following the London Marathon in 2011. I have started training consistently and have managed to build the cycling distance to 55 miles in just under 5 hours, as the longest day is 90 miles”

“I know so many people that have friends and family members who have been cared for at Mary Stevens Hospice and I am aiming to raise as much money as I can. I have seen firsthand the difference that Mary Stevens Hospice services make to not only patients but to their loved ones, if I can help even in a small way then I will be more than satisfied”.
