Young children and their parents are reminded not to forget their bucket and spades for the return of the popular Himley Under 5s Day.

The annual event will be held at Himley Hall and Park on Friday June 28 and will be a day filled with entertainment and fun for the whole family.

Himley Beach is back with around 120 tonnes of play sand for youngsters to enjoy.

Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:

“This annual event attracts lots of visitors for a day of family fun and I’m sure it will continue to be as popular as ever this year. As well as the Himley beach there are also many things for youngsters to enjoy throughout the day.”

This year the ‘Music Bugs’ will be performing and the Himley Land train which will be departing from the specially created Himley Station to take passengers on board for free train rides around the park.

There will also be story telling and puppet shows, Jammy Splodgers crafts tent, seaside garden games and crazy golf, The Animal Centre Mega Zoo, face painting, donkey rides, mini funfair rides, bouncy castle and slide for a small charge and a picnic and play area.

Gates open at 10am until 3pm and admission is just £3.50 for adults and children aged two to five years, children under two are free. A family ticket costs £12 for two adults and two children and free car parking is available.  All children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information call Himley Hall on 01384 817817.
