Youngsters can keep boredom at bay with a whole host of activities at the Crystal Leisure Centre this summer.
 

The summer programme, which runs from Thursday 25 July to Sunday 1 September, includes gym and play, trampolining and arts and crafts.

Youngsters, aged five to 11, can try their hand at arts and crafts on Tuesday 30 July and 13 and 27 August from 11am till noon. Classes cost £3.70 per child.

There are one-hour trampolining lessons for beginners running on Tuesday 6, 13, 20 and 17 August at 10am and 11am and on Friday 9, 16, 23 and 30 August at 3.30pm. Advanced lessons run on Tuesday 6 and 13 August at 12 and 1pm. The sessions are for children aged five to 15 and cost £4.70 per child.

Trampolining sessions for children aged under five years old run on Tuesday 6, 13, 20 and 27 August from 9 to 10am. Friday sessions run on 9, 16, 23 and 30 August from 2.30 to 3.30pm. Sessions cost £4.40 and parents must stay to supervise their child.

Gymnastics classess run on Wednesday 31 July and 7, 14, 21 and 28 August from 12 to 1pm and 1 to 2pm. They are suitable for beginners and improvers aged five to 15 years and cost £4.70 per child.

Activezone sessions will run every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 29 July to 21 August from 9am to 4pm. The activities for children aged eight to 14 include football, dance mats, team games, street dance and arts and crafts. Sessions cost £15 per day with a 50 per cent discount for Options+ leisure discount card holders. Participants will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks.

Children under five can also join in the fun with gym and play sessions taking place on Wednesday 31 July and 7, 14, 21 and 28 August from 9.45 to 10.45am. They cost £3.20 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under eight can also enjoy the centre’s soft play suite, which is open every day during the holidays. The sessions cost £2 per child. Please call the centre to confirm opening times and entrance may be limited to one hour during busy periods.

The centre’s crèche is open for babies and small children from six months to four years old. The facility is run by qualified staff and gives parents the chance to use the leisure centre facilities or try the extensive range of classes on offer.

Young people under the age of 16 will also receive 50 per cent off the full adult price on a casual, no advance booking basis, for badminton, squash, table tennis, five-a-side football, netball and basketball. All participants in the sport must be under 16 to receive the discount
