ACCESS to Dudley Council’s online services are set to be disrupted next week as the local authority’s systems undergo maintenance.

On Sunday, January 15, there will be a one-day planned shut-down, which Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said has been chosen to “minimise” disruption for people who access services on the internet.

The shut-down will mean the council’s website will be unavailable throughout the day, as well as any online booking systems for council services including housing repairs, gym classes and libraries.

Cllr Ahmed said: “This is essential work to ensure our online and electrical systems are safe and robust.

“While we understand that this may cause some inconvenience we have carefully chosen this day as a quiet period to minimise the impact for people.

“Our staff will be working as quickly as possible to make sure the system is back up and running for people to access council services as quickly as possible.”

The council’s systems will be switched off from 8am until 8pm on the Sunday.
