THERE are only a few days left to take advantage of a Commonwealth Games-inspired gym offer at the borough's leisure centres.

Dudley Council is celebrating the 80th birthday of the sporting event by slashing the price of its Lifestyles membership by more than a third.

Throughout August anyone who takes out a new Lifestyles membership at Dudley Leisure Centre, Crystal Leisure Centre in Stourbridge, or Halesowen Leisure Centre, will pay just £19.34 per month, rather than the regular price of £29.50, until December 2014.

The Lifestyles package offers people unlimited use of swimming pools, gyms and fitness classes.

At agreed times members can also have free use of the squash and badminton courts, as well as table tennis.

Councillor Rachel Harris, cabinet member for health, said: “This is a great deal which reduces the cost of membership to our leisure centres by more than a third.

“We are keen to build on the success of the Commonwealth Games and to make it more affordable for people to try new sports and take up more physical activity ”
