THE village of Upton Snodsbury was alive with music, fun and entertainment once again as its annual festival made its return.

Around 1,5000 people attended SnodFest, and saw more than 20 live bands fill the air with music, as well as belly dancers, morris dancers, a disco and a range of activities for children- there was even a rock climbing wall.

Catherine Milner, one of the organisers of the festival which is now in its sixth year, said: "It was well attended yet again, and it was a fantastic event, so we are very pleased with how this year's event went.

"The bands were really popular, and nearly all of them were local talent, so it's always good to showcase them.

"We have had this amount of people come each time for the last couple of years now, so it's nice to see it becoming more established.

"There was also some quite alternative activities which were enjoyed, which was nice to see. We had tai-chi and a vintage tea room for people who wanted to take a little bit of time away from the festival for a while.

"All in all, the mixture of activities meant the festival was mayhem, but fun mayhem, which is exactly what you want from a festival."

The proceeds from the event went to the Upton Snodsbury Parish Recreation Association, but the total amount has not been calculated yet.
