A GROUP of kind-hearted friends and work colleagues have collected £200 to help children experiencing hardship in war-torn Syria.

Money was raised through a fundraising meal at the Burgerworks restaurant in Worcester and will be donated to Save the Children.

Natasha Jones, who organised the event with support from Cherry Shagan, Ceri Cojak and Ruth Brown, said: ““I have got children myself and was inspired to help support the children in Syria, who are suffering because of the country’s problems.

“The event was a fantastic night with 20 people attending and we are proud to have fundraised just under £200.

“We would like to thank Burgerworks for hosting the evening and for giving us a fantastic meal deal so that some of the ticket price went straight to charity.”

The event included a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses including Worcester Warriors Rugby Club, Worcester Live, David Lloyd Leisure Club, The King’s Head Bar and Grill in Sidbury, Burgerworks, Balancing Hands massage therapy in Hanley Swan and Wicked Hair.
