COMMUNITY groups hoping to organise a Christmas lunch in Droitwich for elderly, vulnerable or homeless people, are being asked to make the most of a scheme being run by Waitrose in the town.
The Droitwich branch of Waitrose is helping to support Christmas lunch events for people who would otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day.
This is the second year the supermarket has offered support, with food, money and other resources available for people already organising, or thinking of organising a Christmas event, including staff willing to work as volunteers.
Waitrose community manager Tina Varns, said: “Our branches are at the centre of the communities they serve. We know how important this time of year is to so many people and it is important everyone has the opportunity to enjoy that. We want to play our part in helping more people have a Merry Christmas this year.”
Groups wanting to apply for support, should contact the Droitwich branch before Monday, October 27.
