BROMSGROVE pupils, aged from two up to 18-years-old, have been doing their bit for a Christmas campaign.

Pupils attending the Bromsgrove School umbrella of schools, including the pre-preparatory and seniors schools, have been supporting Operation Christmas Child, (OCC).

Over the past few months more than 160 boxes have been collected by youngsters at the school, which have been packed with donations of toys, school supplies, basic clothing and hygiene items.

The campaign is organised annually by Samaritans Purse so that children can fill and wrap shoe boxes and send them to other children, less fortunate than themselves.

Helpers from the charity have now collected Bromsgrove School's boxes, ready for delivering to children around the world for Christmas.

Rachel Ivison, from Bromsgrove Pre-Preparatory School, said: "The children are very excited at the prospect of sharing the joy of Christmas with other children from different parts of the world.

"Pupils from the three Reception classes had great fun helping to load their boxes onto the van.

"We thank all of the children and families who took part."
