A DRUNK woman spat at and racially abused Polish doormen outside the McDonald’s in Worcester, a court was told.

Tanya George, 20, of Canal Side, Worcester, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday (February 27) and pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive words in a racially aggravated offence.

The incident took place at 1.30am on Saturday, February 7, near to the fast food restaurant in Foregate Street.

Mark Soper, prosecuting, said: “Miss George was seen by police officers outside McDonald’s. They saw her spitting towards the Polish door staff, who dodged out of the way, and swearing at them.

“She was detained and charged in due course.”

Barry Newton, defending, said: “She drank to excess and could not recall making the remarks. But she accepts that if the officers say it happened it must have done. She apologises for what she did and is very remorseful.”

District judge Nigel Cadbury ordered George to pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
