CLASSY runners could land themselves a cool cash prize if they can break the course record at this year's Cobra Classic road race.
Entries are already being invited for the 10K race which takes place on Sunday May 17 and organisers are looking for quality athletes to come and take up the challenge.
Anyone who can beat the time of 32mins 59secs set by Wolverhampton and Bilston runner Ross Jones in 2012 can earn themselves £50.
Race director Chris Pearson said: "It's the seventh year running that we've offered the cash prize in an effort to attract more elite athletes to take part.
"But as the time suggests, it isn't an easy course; there are plenty of climbs involved, especially in the second half of the race."
The race, organised by Cobra Running and Triathlon Club based at the Old Halesonians Rugby Club in Wassell Grove, starts and finishes at the club and takes runners on a course out towards to the Lutley Oak pub in Halesowen.
All proceeds from the race will go to Mary Stevens Hospice.
