CRAFTY locals are invited to head over to Hobbycraft in Wychbold on Saturday, May 16 to help raise money for Children’s Hospice Week.

Customers at the store, which is based inside Webbs Garden Centre, will be able to take part in some crafty activities and enjoy a cup of tea and some tasty treats, all as part of a Craft-tea party.

Hobbycraft works with Together for Short Lives, the leading charity for the UK’s 53 children’s hospices, and the Wychbold event will be helping Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Store manager, Amanda Steward, said: “We’d love for customers to join us for a cup of tea and some delicious cakes, whilst trying out some new crafty ideas and raising money for a really worthwhile cause in the process.”

Lorna Gray, corporate fundraiser at Together for Short Lives, said: “It’s great to be launching our brand new Craft-tea campaign with our fantastic supporters Hobbycraft. Art, craft and play is an important part of what children’s hospices do and the money raised by these events during Children’s Hospice Week will benefit children, young people and families that rely on their local children’s hospice service. Join our Craft-tea party in Hobbycraft’s Droitwich store and help make a difference.

“For those who can’t make Hobbycraft’s Craft-tea party, why not host your own party and wow your friends with your signature sponge, fabulous flapjacks and gorgeous garlands? Do it big or small… but make it count.”

People will be able to find out more about the tea party, which is taking place from 11am to 4pm, at togetherforshortlives.org.uk/craft-tea.
