BROMSGROVE Festival organisers are promising this year's event will provide something for everyone.

Various societies will be putting on shows featuring local performers as well as some top national and international performers.

Events are being held at a variety of venues including the Artrix, Avoncroft Museum of Buildings and St John's Church.

Classical music, spoken word, drama and opera, folk, roots and jazz, literature and poetry, will all be catered for, and the festival also has specific children's and youth events.

This year's festival will also feature activities on the High Street every Saturday. This includes street theatre, percussion, dance, and Bromsgrove Carnival.

The Court Leet Fair Day procession is being held on Saturday, June 20, and after the procession there will be the Summer Jam event in Sanders Park, off Kidderminster Road.

That will feature skateboard demos and competitions, live graffiti and street food, all accompanied by a vibrant sound track provided by local DJs.

Bob Bignell, deputy chairman of the festival, said: "There really is something for everyone and the festival committee are convinced that they have given Bromsgrove the chance to 'try something new'."

This year's festival brochure features full details of all events and copies are available from the Artrix, Bromsgrove Library, Avoncroft Museum and other outlets.

Full festival details, including ticket information and a list of events, are also available to view at bromsgrovefestival.co.uk.
