WORDSLEY youngsters got out their trowels as they lent a helping hand to the ongoing improvements of King George V Park this week.
A number of young members – aged between four and 10 – from 1st Wordsley Boys’ Brigade visited the park on Monday evening where they planted daffodil bulbs.
Chairman of the Friends Group for Wordsley Park, ward councillor Derrick Hemingsley, is actively encouraging local youth organisations to work together to make the park better for the community.
Cllr Hemingsley said: “I was pleased to have the Boys Brigade helping us in Wordsley Park with planting over 100 daffodil bulbs.
“They had previously helped us with some weeding in the park, and will be returning very soon to do some litter picking.
“They are an asset to our park and a credit to their leaders.”
