A REDDITCH singer has made the top 10 of the UK club charts - beating well known names like Jason Derulo and Ariana Grande.

Keri Whip released her debut track Ridiculous Me a few weeks ago and instantly received praise from DJ’s around the UK.

The single entering the club charts at number 37 on the first week, then climbed to number 27 after just a week, and peaked at number nine last weekend.

The 29-year-old, successfully beat international artists like Jason Derulo and Ariana Grande to this week’s top 10, even placing ahead of her own idols The Pet Shop Boys.

Speaking after she heard the news of her chart place, Keri said: "I've been working in the music industry for years, and have been fortunate to travel the world and make a good living from singing. Last year I felt that it was the right time to start releasing my own music and I'm extremely excited by the attention that it has been receiving.”

Keri has been singing for a number of years, but only started writing her own tracks last year.

After joining forces with The Famous Company to development her as a original artist, Keri worked on her debut release with critically acclaimed duo Rich B & Phil Marriott whose credentials include Danni Minogue and Ru Paul.

To celebrate the incredible achievement, Keri’s family surprised her with a billboard in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, which they also hope will continue to promote the release.
