It is your last chance to apply to have Tea for the Queen for her birthday this year, with applications closing on Friday (May 6).

So far over 150 responses have been received with just a few hours left before the 5pm deadline.

The celebration will be at the Guildhall on Saturday June 11 between 3pm and 5pm, the date of the Queen's official birthday.

Anyone from the county also celebrating their 90th birthday in 2016 can apply to be there, with a lucky 10 celebrated via a ballot selecting from all the applicants.

Attendees will also be able to bring a guest.

Application forms are available at local libraries and online at worcester.gov.uk, malvernhills.gov.uk and wychavon.gov.uk.

Completed forms should be e-mailed to civicoffice@worcester.gov.uk or posted to: Tea Party for the Queen, Guildhall, High Street, Worcester.

The Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire and the Mayor of Worcester will be in attendance.

The Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Roger Knight, said on the launch: “Everyone born in 1926 has lived through remarkable times alongside The Queen, from the Second World War to her Coronation and beyond. Tea for The Queen will give local people a chance to relive the experiences they have shared with Her Majesty.”

The Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Lt Col Patrick Holcroft, said: “The Queen’s 90th birthday is an occasion for national celebration.

"I am delighted to be jointly hosting Tea for The Queen, as it will give Worcestershire people who are reaching the same milestone as Her Majesty the chance to join the celebrations of her remarkable reign."

A wide range of other events will be held across Worcestershire to mark Her Majesty’s birthday, including a flotilla of boats on the River Severn on June 11.
