A TEAM from the King's School Worcester has won the Young Enterprise Company programme awards.

White Monkey set up the best company and delivered the best presentation and written company report according to judges.

The group had offered a unique blend of tea as its product.

The competition attracted more than 50 teams across Worcestershire and Herefordshire with ten teams selected as finalists.

They set up stands at County Hall to showcase their products and were required to present to a panel of judges and an audience of around 150 people.

The event was sponsored by Worcestershire County Council's Connecting Schools and Business programme. Clare Marchant, chief executive of Worcestershire County Council, who presented the winning team with their award, said: "I was delighted to get involved with Young Enterprise again this year.

"There are so many great ideas coming from the next generation.

"All the schools did brilliantly and the standard at the finals was higher than ever.

"There has to be a winner and White Monkey from Kings School Worcester, impressed the judges with their complete package including around £2,000 of sales."

White Monkey will now go on to represent Herefordshire and Worcestershire at the regional finals in June.

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday, April 28.
