VILLAGES across Bromsgrove are set to receive a broadband and entertainment boost from Virgin Media.
It has now been revealed that Lickey, Catshill, Marlbrook and Barnt Green will be amongst 20 communities to benefit from the change this year.
Homes and businesses across the country have been campaigning locally for Virgin Media to connect their street to the Supercharging Local Communities scheme.
Votes were cast between February and June via the Cable My Street website.
Jo Dutton, regional director for the Midlands at Virgin Media, said: "We are delighted to be supercharging these Worcestershire villages, it shows that ultrafast broadband and top-notch TV isn’t just for big cities.
"We have been overwhelmed by the response from the local communities and as a result we have decided to speed up our network expansion plans, to connect the communities by spring 2017.”
Virgin Media is still welcoming residents to register interest in the scheme. To do so visit virginmedia.com/cablemystreet.
