TRAFFIC chaos will continue today after roadworks began to repair a gas leak.
Two-way temporary traffic lights were erected opposite the former Crown and Anchor pub in Hylton Road, Worcester, yesterday (Monday).
National Grid, which is carrying out the repairs, say the work will not be finished until Friday at the earliest.
There were long delays along Hylton Road during yesterday's rush hours, as drivers queued to pass through the temporary lights.
Speaking to the Worcester News on Monday, a spokesman for National Grid said: "We do apologise for any inconvenience being caused.
"Our priority is safety to local residents. There are pipes where a number of escapes happen and we do look at those."
The spokesman added that they hope to have work complete and the traffic lights removed by Friday, January 20.
