THE issue of speeding is being addressed by Ross-on-Wye town councillors.
A motion put forward by Ross town councillor, Richard Mayo, has been approved where the council will provide £2,000 to investigate whether four Speed Indication Displays (SIDS) can be placed in the market town.
The SIDS can be used at temporary or permanent locations and warn drivers of their speed via an LED display.
Cllr Mayo said: "Speeding traffic is the second biggest complaint that I get as a councillor (after dog fouling) and as a small market town we are quite limited on what we can do about it.
"SIDS are one effective option if we chose to use them and this is the first step along the road to getting them installed."
Traffic surveys will be carried out as part of the investigation.
