AN 11-year-old girl has raised over £800 by having her long locks cut.

Katie Clarke, who attends Pitmaston Primary School in the St John's area of Worcester decided to cut her hair for the Little Princess Trust after watching Emmerdale.

Her mother, Lisa Wilks said: "A storyline in Emmerdale where someone got cancer and lost all of her hair really affected her.

"She asked if there was anyway she could help and we found that there was so she grew her hair really long and then had this cut for the Little Princess Trust.

"I set the target to raise at £50, thinking people would give a pound here and there but the support has been incredible.

"I am so proud of her, particularly as she is only 11."

Katie had her hair cut at Rich and Gemma's Barbers on The Shambles.

The Little Princess Trust use real hair to provide wigs for children who have lost hair due to cancer treatment.
