A 12-year-old boy was arrested alongside two men after a spate of thefts from vehicles around Kinver and Enville.
South Staffordshire Local Policing Team has been carrying out enquiries into the recent thefts – taking place particularly around the Highgate Common Country Park area – and yesterday (Thursday, April 20) arrested three males aged 20, 18 and 12, all from the Bilston area of Wolverhampton.
Officers said all three were taken to custody and interviewed in relation to “numerous offences”, before being released under investigation.
Sergeant Richard Gorman, local policing deputy commander, said: “We take this type of criminality extremely seriously and have been carrying out a detailed investigation to identify those responsible.
“The offenders have been using bricks and stones to smash windows to vehicles parked in rural locations in order to steal property left in view.
“Please ensure that whilst enjoying the countryside you do not leave anything of value on display in your vehicles.
“Wherever possible leave bags at home or if you need them, take them with you. If you see anything suspicious please contact Staffordshire Police.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
