A MORETON school is celebrating a recent stream of awards.

Kitebrook Preparatory School entered a national catering competition run by Palmer and Howells with their South African theme winning the Festival of Food competition.

The trophy and certificate are now on display in the Kitebrook dining room.

In April, 27 Kitebrook children from Years 5, 6 and 7 entered the national Young Writers Poetry Competition.

With over 35,000 entries for this competition, all 27 of the school’s children were selected as part of the winning 200.

At the beginning of May, the school’s equestrian team entered its first competition at the “Jumping & Style” competition with The Unicorn Equestrian Trust in Stow, coming home with several rosettes.

Kitebrook also pulled off a double victory at the regional finals of the “Race for the Line – Micro:bit Model Rocket Car” competition for England and Wales.

Having sent three teams to the competition, the school took first and joint third in the primary category beating stiff competition from the other schools.

The winning team are now through to the national finals this summer, but whatever the result of the final, Kitebrook will have its name painted on the fin of the Bloodhound car.

The school also triumphed in the Sibford Triathalon out of over 20 participating schools.
