A STUDENT from St Augustine’s High School has gone from kicking a ball around in her garden to playing with the national Welsh squad.

Footy mad Taylor Reynolds has gone through an amazing transition and now plays for the Welsh National U15 Squad.

Taylor's footballing journey started in 2013, when she started playing the beautiful game for the first time - aged nine.

She started at Redditch United girls as a centre back and was playing a year above herself.

In her second year of football she joined Inkberrow, before re-joining Redditch United.

"Redditch United made me realise how much I adore football and that I want to be successful at it when I’m older," she said.

"During that year I also played as a county player for the Worcestershire U14s. I was given a great opportunity to represent my country in the Gothia Cup in Sweden where my team finished 1st out of 118 teams from 82 countries.

"After coming back from Sweden I was asked to start training with Birmingham City ladies and have now just accomplished getting into the Welsh national squad to represent the U15s age group.

A spokesman from the school said: "Taylor is a very talented student and we are extremely proud of her achievements, we look forward to following her career in women’s football."
