A SLEIGH full of Christmas presents made a special drop off to children at Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The Worcester Lions Christmas sleigh, which will be continuing a tour through Worcester’s streets every evening in the run up to Christmas, delivered a generous donation of presents from city broadband firm Airband, who have been helping local charities.

The children were also excited to Santa.

The donation follows other charity events organised by Airband including a MacMillan coffee morning and the big church breakfast for Christian Aid, which were co-ordinated by Jane Norcross, project co-ordinator for Airband.

Ms Norcross said: “We were organising a Secret Santa for our office Christmas party and I felt it was a good time of year to also buy gifts for people who genuinely need it.

"Our hope is that it will put some sparkle into the lives of individuals and families who can benefit from a little extra love and support at this time of year.”

Acorns provides specialist palliative care and support for children with life threatening and life limiting illnesses across the heart of England.

Katreena Barnes, manager at Acorns Children’s Hospice in Bath Road, added: “We are thrilled to receive this kind donation from Airband.

"The gifts are a way of stretching our resources further to make life more enjoyable for the children and their families we support”.
