A CITY gym owner is training a national charity team ahead of the London Marathon.

Anthony Taylor, owner of Total Fitness Worcester, is getting national blood cancer charity Leukaemia Care’s London Marathon team ready for the big race in April.

He will soon be hosting a ‘Meet the Team’ day at his gym for insightful talks and tips to prepare Leukaemia Care’s runners.

Mr Taylor said: “Coaching the Leukaemia Care Team is a privilege. For some, it's going to be their first marathon and you want them all to cross the finish line and wear the medal with pride.”

A marathon veteran himself, Mr Taylor is also running the marathon for Leukaemia Care, and is hoping to set the World Record for the fastest marathon dressed as a blood cell.

“I never expected to be running the London Marathon dressed as a red blood cell,” he said.

“If we get the World Record approved, it's going to be an extra special day.”
