A WACKY hair day at a Dudley school has helped to raise £350 for Little Princess Trust.

Youngsters and staff at Milking Bank Primary School paid £1 to attend school with some weird and wonderful hairstyles on Wednesday (February 14).

All donations went to the charity, which supplies wigs made of real hair to children who suffering from hair loss as a result of cancer treatment or other illnesses.

Year four student Karissa Jakhu recently went that extra mile to support the charity by donating her long locks after facing the chop and fellow pupil Keira Monk is planning to follow suit in the coming weeks.

Keira, aged 10, who plans to donate just over 30cm of her long tresses, suggested the hair-raising fundraiser, as she is on a mission to raise £1,000 for the charity.

The event was a "huge success" according to headteacher Karen Brass, who added: "Both staff and pupils enjoyed being ‘wacky’ with our hair!"

Anyone who wishes to help Keira reach her fundraising target should visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/val-monk to make a donation.
