A LOCAL band which reached the final of a competition has released a single on Spotify and iTunes.

Lower Loveday have released the song called "Is it Right" and also had their song played on ITV's This Morning as part of their unsigned music segment where they play music from a selected unsigned artist during their fashion segment.

The band from Evesham performed at the O2 Academy in Birmingham after reaching the final of SoundWaves Music Competition UK.

They have also released a physical EP and describe their style as indie rock.

Lower Loveday has its roots at the old Simon De Montford Middle School, with co-founder and drummer Tom Garbett with singer Mark Washington, won a talent show when they were 12, before going their separate ways, but then met years later by chance in Sydney, Australia.

“We fortuitously met in Australia when both travelling, and I showed him my demos of the songs and we decided that we had to do something about it,” explained Mr Garbett.

“That one drunken sing-a-long reignited a passion that had started back in that school talent show.

“We have found the perfect line-up by adding guitarist Chris Francis and bassist Stuart Creed.”
