A HAGLEY kennels is appealing for donations to help pay the veterinary bills of a poorly greyhound.

Four-year-old Bear recently arrived at Broadmarsh Kennels in Wassell Grove Lane with health problems that have led to vet bills of £3,500 and counting.

Marie Whitehouse, lead volunteer at Greyhound Trust Hall Green, said: “We noticed that Bear was losing his balance and co-ordination so he has been to see specialist vets and has had an MRI scan and various other tests.

“We now know that he has some neurological problems and a rare muscle condition. He has had his kennel specifically adapted to help him.

“All of us who know Bear are determined to do everything we can to help him make a full recovery so he can start looking for his forever home.

“But his treatment is expensive so any donation, however small, would be very welcome.”
