TWO men have appeared in court to deny any part in two robberies, one against a pizza delivery man and the other against a taxi driver.

Daniel Martin and Tommy Jauncey appeared at Worcester Crown Court yesterday, both charged in connection with the same robberies.

Jauncey, aged 21, of St George's Lane, Worcester, had already denied any role in the robberies at a court hearing on April 23

this year.

The robberies took place against a taxi pizza delivery man on February 19 this year and against a taxi driver on February 21 this year but both men deny any involvement.

Martin, aged 29, of no known address but with links to Warndon, Worcester, was arraigned yesterday, also entering not guilty pleas.

Ian Ball, prosecuting, said the robbery of the pizza delivery man was carried out by people wearing masks. A pizza delivery pouch, wallet and Samsung mobile phone were stolen.

The taxi driver was robbed of cash, a mobile phone and a CCTV camera.

Jauncey alone denies three separate charges of threats to kill, threats of criminal damage (arson) and criminal damage involving another complainant.

Martin was represented by Earl Pinnock and Jauncey by Alexander West.

A special measures application was granted by the judge, Nicholas Cole, allowing one of the witnesses to give evidence via live link rather than appearing in the court in person.

The trial date has been placed in a warned list for the week commencing September 10 which means it could be conducted at a convenient period during that week.

Both men were remanded in custody.
