WORCESTER Sixth Form College is celebrating the results.

The overall pass rate, grades A* to E, is 98.5 per cent, while pupils gaining high grades, A* to C, is 75.3 per cent.

Meanwhile 48 per cent gained top grades, A* to B.

There were 1,000 entries.

Principal, Michael Kitcatt, said: “This is the first year that almost all subjects at A-level have been on the new linear system and our students have done really well.

"Both the pass rate and the percentage of students getting the higher A*-C grades are up on last year’s, whereas nationally both those figures are down.

"I am delighted that the hard work of our students and staff and the particular expertise of our staff in A- levels and 16 to 19-year-old education are reflected in today’s results.”
