BEHIND-THE-SCENES shenanigans at two outwardly respectable entities will be laid bare when Blockley Amateur Dramatic Company (BAD) presents its next double bill of one act plays.
In Jean Anouilh’s “The Orchestra”, the lady musicians and a solitary male pianist reveal seething volcanoes under their placid exterior.
Jealousy, gossip, boasting and thwarted emotions lead to a dramatic climax.
There is more than a little drama in the second play too as the imaginary Blockley Amateur Dramatic Society faces extinction.
Its membership has dwindled to four and the audiences are not much bigger.
They need a blockbuster play to fund their rent or else they will be evicted.
The cast of the two plays include many of the popular local performers who recently wowed audiences at “Strictly Canterbury Tales” and “Trevor”.
The latest productions by Blockley’s own real life amateur company can be seen for three
nights at St George’s Hall between Thursday February 15 and Saturday February 17.
Seats are numbered and reserved so early booking is recommended.
Tickets are £10 and available now at Blockley Shop.
