TWO new cash machines are to be installed at Hereford's Old Market site.

Herefordshire Council has approved the plans submitted by Crickhowell-based Notemachine UK Ltd for the two ATMs to be put in place side by side in one pod next to the lifts and to the right of Waitrose' outside cafe area.

The news will likely be welcomed by shoppers as there have been no cash machines on site since the Old Market development opened in 2014.

A previous application by the same applicant was refused in September 2015 because planning officers said the machines would "unacceptably detract from the immaculate frontage" of the £90 million scheme.
