A FUNDRAISING event to boost two charities saw the Stourport community come together for a spot of tea and entertainment
Stourport Manor Hotel hosted an afternoon tea event on April 13 in aid of Home Start and Acorns Children’s Hospice – charities chosen by the Mayor of Stourport Vi Higgs. Over 60 people attended the event and enjoyed the Manor’s hospitality including Mayor of Kidderminster Nicky Gale.
An estimated £400 was raised on the day, with the combined proceeds of other mayoral events this year taking over £5000 in donations for the two charities.
The event included a performance from David Essex tribute singer and TV’s Stars in Their Eyes finalist Christopher Nott, which “went down a storm” according to Stourport Manor Hotel manager Matt Ward.
He said the event was an “opportunity to open up their doors to the community in support of worthy causes."
Mayor Vi Higgs said: “It was a wonderful occasion and made special by the staff at the Stourport Manor.”
