Students milking it on way to prom

FINAL year students from Redhill School in Stourbridge will be slowing traffic tomorrow(Thursday May 8) when they make it to their high school prom on the back of a milk float.

Instead of hiring a swish limosine like most students, the environmentally-friendly teenagers will be travelling to the party at Next Generation in Brierley Hill in the battery powered, emission free delivery vehicle loaned by Brigstock Dairies in Kingswinford.

Year 11 student Anthony Bullock, aged 16, and seven of his pals came up with the novel idea, which they also hope will serve up a bit of publicity for the dairy.

The teenager told the News: "It was a spur of the moment decision, we thought it would be exciting."

Although the lads' dates have been less excited about the idea, and have agreed to meet their partners on the door at the glitzy bash.
