She joined the police force and was stationed in the London area, one of her duties was driving a panda car, she then applied to become a mounted policewoman and much to her surprise was accepted. |
| Kinver Civic Society | | 3:57pm Wednesday 7th May 2008 | | THE first meeting of the 2008/9 season was held on Monday 21st April. The speaker was Henry Williams who spoke on the work of the Royal British Legion.
His talk began with "The Homage", which is used at all Legion meetings. We were interested to learn about the origins of the legion which was founded in 1921 by former officers to help men who had fought in the First World War when no government help was available. |

The passing of a dearly loved member of the society, Marje Hayden, was announced and condolences were expressed to her son Robert whose father had also passed away in recent weeks. A silence was held as a mark of respect. |
