The newly appointed Secretary Sue Ward and new committee members were also made welcome, after which Sue read out the minutes of the previous meeting.

This was followed by Treasurer Janet Tomkins with her report.

Wednesday 7th May is National T.G. Day and will be celebrated by our Guild with a coffee morning to be held at the home of a fellow member - details may be obtained from the Chairman or Secretary and begins at 10:30am until 12 noon at a cost of 50p.

Letters of thanks for the tokens given to them were received from retiring officers Marion Clarke and Joan Oakley. A letter of thanks was also received from Betty Pearson following her eye operation.

A fine morning welcomed the bowlers for the first session of the season with 10 members competing.

The Speaker for the evening could not attend owing illness but Mr.Geoffrey Davies (our Speaker for July) stepped in and we enjoyed a most entertaining account of "Humour of Court".

Competition winners were Enid Lambert and June Lees with raffle prizes going to Marguerite Wilkinson and Sheila West.

For our May meeting (open Evening) we are to enjoy a fashion show by Roman Originals of Merry Hill. Tombola prizes and plants from members would be appreciated. There will be no competition that evening.

Date of the next meeting is 13th May in St. James Church Hall, Wollaston, commencing 7.30pm when any non members would be made most welcome.
