Nick’s internet TV show success

A FORMER Worcester pupil who co-produced a hit internet television show watched more than 1.7 million times, is now looking to make more programmes.

Nick Jones, 28, who went to The King's School, helped film and edit The London Affair, now the 10th most watched internet programme of all time.

He now wants to secure financial backing to produce a further 100 four-minute episodes of the online hit.

The first episode of a four-part pilot was only uploaded on Tuesday, April 29, and has been viewed 1,786,212 times, mostly through the friends networking website bebo.com The second episode has just been released. Its popularity has stunned co-creators and housemates Mr Jones and Nellie McQuinn, 21, who run Grass Roots Media, the production company behind the series Mr Jones, of Abberley Avenue, Stourport, said: "It was very slow to start with and then suddenly it just took off."

The romantic comedy, aimed at 15 to 25-year-olds, charts the love lives of seven main characters in Britain's capital.

Since setting up two years ago, Mr Jones, who works as a salesman to finance filming, and his business partner have put about £10,000 of their own money into the company, renting most of their equipment and relying on goodwill to attract cast and crew members.
